7News spoke to Sheriff Gittings Wednesday morning, and he says he is thankful for the support from the voters, his family and friends.
He also discussed some of the goals he hopes to accomplish during his next term.
Gittings wants to continue to improve drug arrests throughout the county and secure more federal funds for the sheriff's office.

“Everybody that supported me, I want to thank them, my family, my friends. I have to thank God for putting me in this position and giving me the ability to run and do this job and serve the citizens of Hancock County. We're going to try to keep going which way we were going and trying to keep up with the raises, with the pay, so we are competitive with everybody else. Also, try to partner up with some people to help with addiction and stuff, and maybe we can see what we can do for them and try to build a program that way.”
